Hebridean Celtic Festival, Stornoway July 2016

Back in July this year I travelled to the bonnie Isle of Lewis to photograph the Hebridean Celtic Festival in Stornoway. As an onlooker to island life, the festival encapsulated the wonderful community spirit and vibrant culture of the island but also invited in entertainment and music from across the globe providing a truly multi-cultural Highland fling. I was part of a group of photographers and film-makers who darted from the town centre to the festival tents to capture the action.

I have posted a variety of photographs below showing the music, performers and festival people. For more information about the festival, go to the Heb Celt website

Edinburgh Yarn Festival 2016

Back in March I was commissioned by Mica and Jo to cover the Edinburgh Yarn Festival; and what a colourtastic event it was! Although I also covered the event last year, each visit has been distinctive. And yet one thing that hasn’t changed is the ability for the festival to truly dominate your senses.

I had a brilliant time photographing for the Edinburgh Yarn Festival this weekend. The festival took over the entire Corn Exchange for a whole weekend and excited the eyes of hundreds of enthusiastic craft peoples. I’m not going to lie, as someone who doesn’t actually knit myself, it was still incredibly exciting. If you have major OCD then seeing hundreds of buttons lined up perfectly and hundreds of balls of wool all in a gradiented rainbow colour is completely hypnotizing.
